I Love Hong Kong Association Scholarship
Purpose of the scholarship
The organization provides scholarships to school-aged children from single-parent families receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) or low-income families in the Yau Tsim Mong district. The charity fund distributes the scholarships annually to eligible students, allowing them to attend tutoring classes, extracurricular activities, and purchase reference books that they would otherwise be unable to afford. The aim is to improve their learning abilities, broaden their horizons, and enhance their personal physical and mental development.
Application qualifications
1. Social Security recipients or low-income single-parent families; and/or
2. Living in a subdivided flat;
3. Students attending primary school in Hong Kong who have excellent academic performance and good conduct.
Application and Selection
The association will issue invitation letters and application forms, and nominations will be made by school teachers or social workers. Nominated students need to fill out the application form and write a self-introduction article explaining how they respect teachers and elders, are filial to their parents, have a positive mindset, love life, and strive for excellence. These should be submitted along with their recent academic transcripts. After the association assesses the qualifications, a home visit will be arranged as the final assessment to determine eligibility for the scholarship.
