To encourage youth creativity, I Love Hong Kong Reading Network has held the "I Love Hong Kong Reading Network Essay Contest" annually since 2005. Participants must choose one of six different themes set by the organization each year, such as "Love in the World," "A Positive Life," "It is More Blessed to Give Than to Receive," and "The Value of Honesty," and write an article. The contest aims to inspire youth creativity, enhance their writing interest and ability, and cultivate their emphasis on personal character and moral values.

Since its inception, this competition has received thousands of entries each year, and the quality is very high. The winning students' works have received unanimous praise from the judges for their use of language, content arrangement, and emotional expression. The winning works are also posted on the reading website for other students to appreciate and learn from.

At the annual essay competition awards ceremony, the winning students and judges exchanged writing experiences, which greatly benefited the students.
