mission
"Caring for society and supporting the grassroots; carrying forward the past and forging ahead into the future, cultivating virtue and nurturing talent."
Our mission is to empower underprivileged individuals and youth to discover and realize their potential through social service work and cultural and educational activities. We will care for and support underprivileged individuals and youth, promoting their holistic development through scholarships, academic support, parent-child activities, and single-parent family support programs. Simultaneously, we assist youth in recognizing the contemporary value of traditional Chinese culture and virtues, stimulating their potential, cultivating their sense of social responsibility and cultural pride through innovative forms such as drama and short film production competitions, and encouraging them to actively contribute to society, achieving the dual goals of personal achievement and social progress.

Association Introduction
The I Love Hong Kong Association is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 by a group of people who love Hong Kong. The Association has always been concerned about the development and growth of children and teenagers, and has held a number of activities over the years to help children and teenagers improve their personal character and cultivate their spirit of caring for society and loving the country and Hong Kong.
Since its establishment, the Association launched the "I Love Hong Kong Reading Website" free reading program in 2005, providing Hong Kong primary and secondary school students with one constructive article daily for character education and liberal studies. This allows students to stay informed about current events and understand the latest information on various liberal studies topics from different analytical perspectives. To encourage students to read more extracurricular books, the "I Love Hong Kong Reading Website" also features a points system for reading. The website uploads copyrighted books owned by the Association, organized by chapter, for students to choose from. Each reading section is followed by a question for students to answer; correct answers earn points. The scores for reading books and daily articles are displayed separately on the reading leaderboard, allowing teachers and students to clearly see their latest points at a glance. Both types of reading scores can be redeemed for gifts according to the points reward program, further enhancing students' interest in reading extracurricular books. This reading program has over 400 participating schools and is very popular with the academic community, teachers, and parents.
To promote a deeper understanding of Hong Kong history among young people and the public, thereby enhancing their sense of belonging to Hong Kong, our organization established the "I Love Hong Kong History Research Centre." Since its inception, in addition to creating the "I Love Hong Kong History Website" to provide concise historical images of Hong Kong, we have also held numerous activities to help the public learn about Hong Kong history and deepen their understanding of events. Among these activities, our organization has co-organized the Hong Kong Secondary School Inter-School "Historical Photographic Research Competition" with the Hong Kong Museum of History. Through the study of historical photographs and the collection of relevant historical materials, we aim to increase students' and the public's interest in and understanding of Hong Kong history. In previous competitions, our organization received many outstanding entries, some of which demonstrated breakthroughs in research and a high level of academic rigor.
Since 2007, our association has held the Hong Kong Inter-School "Top Ten Exemplary Youths of Hong Kong" election annually to encourage young people to improve their personal character, love Hong Kong, strive for excellence, and serve the community, while also recognizing their outstanding academic achievements and good conduct. The "Top Ten Exemplary Youths of Hong Kong" election attracts over a hundred outstanding students each year, recognizing countless ambitious, optimistic, and accomplished young people who excel in both character and academics, possess a strong sense of social responsibility, and serve as worthy role models for other young people. This event has also received praise and recognition from the community, is highly valued by the academic community, and attracts numerous media interviews each year. Since 2008, our association has also held the "I Love Hong Kong Moral Education Speech Contest" annually, hoping to enhance students' creativity, confidence, expression, and public speaking skills, while cultivating their emphasis on personal character and establishing correct values and attitudes towards life. To encourage youth creativity, our association also holds the "I Love Hong Kong Reading Website Essay Contest" annually, hoping to inspire young people's creative enthusiasm, improve their writing ability, and cultivate their good character.
To facilitate moral education in schools, the Association added a video channel in 2009, designing a series of novel and diverse moral education teaching materials available for free download by primary and secondary school teachers. The content covers the six major areas of Liberal Studies, including short videos on social culture, sports and leisure, and introductions to Hong Kong government departments, aiming to help students consolidate their learning and broaden their horizons through audio-visual experiences. The teaching materials include presentations, videos, classroom worksheets, and other teaching tools, along with clear and detailed teaching guidelines to facilitate teacher instruction. Furthermore, all teaching videos are produced in multimedia formats, including feature films, documentaries, and animations. Classroom activities include debates, Q&A games, and role-playing, effectively and gradually introducing students to various values in a simple and accessible way.
In recent years, due to changes in the social environment, some of the aforementioned activities have had to be temporarily suspended, and our work has also shifted its focus accordingly. Nevertheless, our original intention has never changed, and we are still committed to continuing this love and care in new ways.
In recent years, our association has organized various activities for youth and underprivileged individuals, such as the "Caring for Single-Parent Families Scheme," which helps low-income single-parent families or those receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and living in subdivided flats. This program assists them in applying for eligible government aid or funding from other charitable organizations and provides academic support for children from single-parent families. Additionally, there is the "I Love Hong Kong Association Scholarship" program, where our charitable foundation annually awards scholarships to eligible students to support their participation in tutoring classes and extracurricular activities that they would otherwise be unable to afford, aiming to improve their learning abilities and broaden their horizons. In addition, the association has also held various parent-child activities, such as "Parent-Child Buffet", "New Year Cake Delivery", "Autumn Parent-Child Trip" and "Mid-Autumn Mooncake Gift for Mothers", to enhance parent-child relationships and help the physical and mental health development of teenagers.
Our association will continue to dedicate itself to the moral education of young people, combining the contemporary value of Chinese culture and virtues with innovative forms such as drama and short film competitions. We will regularly organize various cultural and educational themed activities to promote young people's deep understanding and practice of Chinese culture and virtues, and cultivate them into pillars of society with integrity and a positive attitude towards life.
Staying true to our original aspirations and never stopping our progress, the "I Love Hong Kong Association" will continue to actively promote meaningful projects that care for and support young people, and is willing to work together with all sectors of society to create a better future.
